A Personal Journey Begins
Paws 2 Health Rehab Centre was established as a result of a heartfelt personal experience with Ellen’s 9-year-old blue English Staffordshire Bullterrier, Murray.
Murray suffered a fibrocartilaginous embolism (FCE), a condition known as a spinal stroke, which left him unable to use his hind legs.
After several days in the hospital, Murray underwent an MRI which confirmed the worst. Though there was no cure, love, support, and rehabilitation offered a chance for recovery. Following the surgeon’s advice, Ellen sought out a rehabilitation center to provide hydrotherapy, massage, and laser treatment to aid in Murray’s recovery.
The Road to Recovery
For six months, Ellen traveled 45 minutes each way to the nearest hydrotherapy center. Thankfully, with the treatments coupled with love and care, Murray regained the use of both legs and returned to his daily walks, with only a minor deficit to his left limb.
The Power of Hydrotherapy
This experience highlighted the profound impact of hydrotherapy on mobility, muscle strength, and overall quality of life. Ellen’s journey with Murray and the lack of hydrotherapy centers in Brisbane’s western suburbs inspired her to create Paws 2 Health, with a promise to provide love and compassion to all pets in need.
Our Commitment
A glimpse into our story and the love for pets.
First hand, we saw how hydrotherapy improves mobility, strengthens muscles and recovers quality of life. Without hydrotherapy, Murray would never have been able to return to his daily walks. Our experience with Murray along with the lack of hydrotherapy centres in the western suburbs of Brisbane is how Paws 2 Health was born—with a solemn promise to all clients to provide love and compassion to pets in need.
